In an admitted marketing tactic to boost 2008 CD sales, Radiohead's management announces "If we didn't believe that when people hear the music they will want to buy the CD, then we wouldn't do what we are doing." Band rides a wave of good press and hype before the standard big-label CD release happens as fans feel betrayed and cheated.
