The bank bosses who refuse to quit

Chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin has resigned and will be replaced by current British Land chief executive Stephen Hester. As part of the deal, Sir Fred Goodwin, the chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland, resigned. Sir Fred Goodwin, some nine years at the helm, looks likely to step down. Sir Fred Goodwin, chief executive, will step down and be replaced by Stephen Hester, currently chief executive of British Land. Sir Fred Goodwin, its chief executive, will be an early casualty of the takeover. a suggestion last week that Sir Fred Goodwin and Sir Tom McKillop would vacate the top slots at Royal Bank of Scotland was rapidly quashed.
